Adventure Odyssey Adventure Odyssey will span the world with an electrifying undercurrent of risk and danger, featuring the expanding range of adventure sports. The first three programs airing on NBC Sports- January 28, February 11 and 12, 2000 will include: on Baffin Island, a climb on one of the most remote and treacherous rock walls; in Sumatra, a team of subterranean explorers venture below the surface of the earth to explore caves that no human has ever seen before; in Patagonia, a team will ski and sail the untamed icecap in an attempt to traverse the tip of South America; and in South Africa, Andre Hartman will get up close and personal with Great White Sharks. Other segments will visit a rock wall in Africa with famed climber Todd Skinner, an exploration of some of the deepest underwater caves in the world and a first ascent of Shishapangma, a mountain in Tibet. Adventure Odyssey will use the innovative production technique of combining film and digital video cameras. This combination will offer a vivid and cinematic picture, allowing this unprecedented television series to take the viewer to the last mysterious frontiers of our planet. Adventure Odyssey will take the viewer, as never before, on a virtual reality ride to adventure.
