Alex Lowe, one of the world's most respected alpinists, joined with a group of friends to attempt the first American ski descent of an 8,000-meter peak. Their objective was the fourteenth highest peak in the world, the 26,047-ft Mt. Shishapangma. The expedition began in Katmandu, Nepal, before crossing the Chinese border into Tibet and the heart of the Himalayas.

En route, the climbers acclimatized to higher altitudes by climbing and skiing the spectacular, yet lesser, peaks near Shishapangma. Tragically an avalanche overcame Alex Lowe, Dave Bridges, and Conrad Anker. Conrad survived with serious injuries, but Alex and Dave were buried and never found. This is the story of a group of friends with a shared passion for the mountains. The film is also a celebration of the life and spirit of these two great men who gave their lives in pursuit of their dreams.
